TERY WILLIAMS

Tery Williams advises multinational companies on a variety of international workforce issues including employment, tax, data privacy and equity-based compensation. 


Tery has been an attorney in the equity field for over 20 years. First, in the Global Equity Services practice group of Baker & McKenzie, LLP’s San Francisco office, where her practice focused on the international aspects of offering and implementing employee stock plans in over 90 countries. 


Later, Tery gained valuable in-house experience in the legal department of Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) in Palo Alto, California where she managed the company’s international equity-related filings and provided legal support for the company’s equity compensation team including Human Resources, Equity Administration and Executive Compensation. At HP, Tery developed skill balancing the needs of stakeholders in multiple departments while supporting the company’s overall goals.


This combination of law firm and in-house experience has given Tery a practical approach to the practice of law and the issues that can arise in the area of global employment.


Tery has been a member of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP) and the Global Equity Organization (GEO). She has presented on panels at the national conferences of both NASPP and GEO.


Tery is licensed in California and Oregon. 


Tery holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Oregon State University, a B.A. in History from San Francisco State University and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, Cum Laude.
