Cathy Song has extensive experience providing legal and tax advice to multinational companies regarding their global workforce matters, including equity-based and
cash compensation plans & benefits, employment & labor law issues, and related data privacy obligations and proprietary information & intellectual property
concerns.
She has a more recent focus on international labor law and equity-based compensation issues that arise with workers of various classifications for clients ranging from start-ups with a growing global presence to Fortune 50 corporations.
She partners with various stakeholders at each company, including Legal, Tax, Finance, Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits & Stock Administration and Payroll. She devises solutions to issues that arise with operating plans and HR management globally, including practices that balance costs against risks, compliance with securities law and exchange control requirements, practical approaches to employment and labor law issues, and cross-border/international assignment‑related policies.
Cathy is a member of the Natonal Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP), has been involved with the Global Equity Organization (GEO), and spoken at events and conferences held by NASPP, GEO and other related professional associations.
Cathy is barred in California, the District of Columbia, and New York. She earned her B.A. in History at Columbia University and J.D. at Cardozo School of Law. Prior to joining International Law Solutions, P.A., she worked at large international law firms, a Big 4 tax accounting firm and with the in-house legal department of a publicly traded company before it was acquired.
